How to Get Great Healthy Skin

If you’re into good looking skin, and wanting to age gracefully, then it’s important to know what your skin needs in order to complete this task. A good foundation is a really good place to start, and by foundation we mean good skincare that nourishes and moisturizes your skin.

The foundation to great skin care is by adding essential fatty acids into your skin care routine.

Why EFA’s?

Essential Fatty Acids are the building blocks to healthy cell membranes, which means great healthy skin cells, but our body doesn’t make certain EFA’s that our skin needs like Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids, so we must rely on nature to support us with these essential building blocks for our skin. We can get these essential fatty acids through the oils, and butters that nature provides for us.

Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids have great benefits when applied to your skin. They help produce the skins natural oil barrier which keeps skin hydrated, plump, and younger looking.

Omega 3 fatty acids

Help skin to appear smoother, firmer, younger, and more supple. It also has great anti-inflammatory properties important for individuals with rosacea, acne, and psoriasis. Omega 3 also ensures the cell walls in the skin to maintain their elasticity, and improve circulation, and oxygen uptake in the cells. Omega 3 contributes in retaining water in the skin, so it provides anti-aging properties as well.

Omega 6 essential fatty acids

High in gamma linolenic acid (GLA) may actually help to reduce inflammation as well. Omega 6 also helps to suppress oily skin concerns by aiding in flushing out toxins, which reduces clogged pores.

Our skin is our biggest organ, and it is acts as a sponge soaking up whatever is put on it. What we put on our skin gets absorbed into our bodies, so its important to put healthy natural ingredients on it. Applying essential fatty acids to our skin adds great benefits to our cardiovascular, immune, nervous, and reproductive system. Our bodies need these EFA’s to make, and repair cell membranes, that enable the cells to obtain healthy nutrition and expel harmful waste out of our bodies.

EFA’s are an overall great way to keep our bodies young, and healthy inside and out. Be good to yourself, love yourself, and take care of your mind, body, and soul. You are worth it. Love you some you.

5 Great Films for Positive Living

Here a list of films that I have watched, and that have changed my mind, how I think, and that have just changed my life in general. I hope you like them as much as I did.
  1.  The Shift

The Shift is a movie about how a life changing shift takes place in people’s lives. In this movie, they give 3 real life examples of this shift. This movie centers on Dr. Wayne Dyer talking about the shift.

Dr. Dyer talks about the afternoon of life, getting away from the EGO, and he then ties it into the Law of Attraction. I have watched this a few times, and it seems like each time I watch, I learn something new. It’s a great film, and was very powerful for me on my journey into changing my mindset, and opening to the powers within me.

  1. Spirit Space; A Journey Into Your Consciousness

Spirit Space is a documentary that explores the unanswered questions about the soul, life after death, and our consciousness. This film dives deep into the questions of life. “Who are we?”, and “Where do we come from?”. This film tries to explain how our existence is not limited to the boundaries of our bodies.

  1. The Power of the Heart

I absolutely love this film. It features some well-known people like Eckhart Tolle, and Deepak Chopra, and shows fascinating evidence that the heart is much more than an organ that sits in our chest to keep us alive. The heart can transform your views on our trouble areas in life such as, money, health, relationships, and even success. It’s also a book if you prefer that, but I’m more of a visual person.

  1. Inner Worlds Outer Worlds

This film is a little long, but it didn’t feel that way to me, because I was really digging it. This movie won many awards, including the Award of Excellence at the Canadian International Film Festival.

I loved this film, and it sits up there with some of the favorites on my list. The film shows how there is one source that connects all things. “The Power of One”. We are all connected in this universe by a greater power, and this film dives deep into explaining this, and shining a light on the topic. If you like the Law of Attraction, and the Power of One, you will love this film.

  1. Choice Point: Align Your Purpose

This is another award-winning documentary, and I must say that I loved it. Anytime someone tells me that they have had out of body experiences, or that they talk to higher spirits, I’m all in. This film talks about the change that the world needs, and how we can be that change. All it takes is one person at a time, and we can begin to see changes in our lives, and we can help others by spreading the word, and succeeding as a human race. It’s a powerful film, and a must see.

These are just a few films that I have watched to help me learn about the Law of Attraction, and how to change my mindset. I love these films, and they have helped me, and I believe you will like them as well.

Years of Self Neglect and Abuse

For years I neglected myself.  I abused myself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  I didn’t care what I looked like.  I went in public looking homely and ragged without a care as to the trail of funk I was leaving in my path.

I got in the funk of not “good enough’s”, and the years of taking prescriptions for anxiety, and depression left me in a world of darkness.  I was emotionless, and always down on myself.  It got so bad that I even went to work days on end without brushing my hair.  I would just wake up, throw it in a bun and go.  It wasn’t even a cute messy bun.  It was a knotted messy bun, that looked like a family of mice lived in it.  And you know what????   I didn’t care.  I didn’t care if I looked like hell when I left my house.  I stopped brushing my hair, teeth, and even stopped taking daily baths.  Thats how bad it got, and at the time I didn’t even see it.  Hell I was upset with my husband because he never told me I was pretty, or spent any quality time with me.  Probably because I stunk. Yep, I was in a funk that I couldn’t see.

I longed for better smelling days.  I wanted to drop the 50 lbs I had gained in 6 years.  I wanted to shave my damn legs, wash and brush my hair, and I wanted to look sexy and cute for my husband, and myself.  I just had no desire to get out of my couch potato routine.  I ate like shit, looked like shit, and felt like shit.  In my eyes I was pure shit, and no one could tell me different.

Until the end of 2016.  That’s when I woke up.  After the loss of my mother I got even more curious about what happened to us when we passed away.  It took a while for the grief to take its course and pass.  She left us in 2012, and it wasn’t until the end of 2016 that I finally woke up and snapped out of my depression.  I got connected with my spiritual essence in 2017.  That whole year was spent in self development, spiritual development, and reprogramming my mind.  I needed a new mindset.  I needed a shift to happen and it totally did.  Changing your mindset is one of the fundamental things to do when you are coming out of a dark and lonely depression.

I found out I have power to change my own life in 2017.  I learned so much, and I’m still learning.  I started showering again.  I started putting on make-up, and brushing my hair again.  I knew that taking care of me was very Important in changing my life.  The years of neglect are showing hard, and I know it’s up to me to reverse the damage that I have done to myself physically, mentally, and spiritually.  That’s why I started all this.  I love self care.  I’m a girls and I love looking, and feeling like one.  I haven’t been able to really appreciate myself and my girlie side, because I stopped caring, but now I’m getting it all back.

In 2017 I learned I have the power to change my life.  In 2018 I will find that power, and use it.  I will love myself in all my forms.  Total self love and self love self care will be my saving grace in 2018.  It’s my responsibility to love and take care of me, and I let that slip for the past 6 years, but not anymore.  I’m woke as fuck now, and I’m back.  Here’s to a year of truly loving me, and taking care of me.  Love is the most powerful force in the universe, and I’m using that to bring me back to life.
